Ship & Rank Link Checker Privacy Policy

Ship & Rank Link Checker is a Chrome extension published by Ship & Rank.
Information handled
When a user initiates a scan, the extension temporarily processes the active webpage’s URL, title, hyperlink destinations, link text and link locations. It also processes response status codes, redirect destinations and connection errors returned while checking links.
The extension does not access or collect the user’s saved Chrome browsing history. It only processes the webpage and links the user explicitly chooses to check.
How information is used
This information is used only to:
• Collect links from the selected webpage
• Classify links as reachable, broken, redirected, skipped or needing review
• Locate and highlight links on the selected webpage
• Display the requested link report
• Export results as a CSV file when requested by the user
Storage and retention
Scan results are processed locally within the user’s browser and remain in memory while the report is open. The extension does not use persistent browser storage and does not transmit scan results to Ship & Rank servers.
CSV files are created only when requested and are saved locally on the user’s device.
Network requests
To verify link destinations, the extension sends direct HTTP or HTTPS requests from the user’s browser to the URLs being checked. Those destination websites may receive standard network information, such as the user’s IP address, according to their own privacy policies.
The extension omits website credentials and does not send a referring-page header while checking destinations.
Sharing and sale of data
Ship & Rank does not sell, rent or share extension user data with advertisers or data brokers. The extension contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking services.
Information handled by the extension is not used for profiling, personalized advertising, creditworthiness, lending or any purpose unrelated to its link-checking functionality.
Permissions
The extension uses:
• activeTab to access the webpage selected by the user
• scripting to collect, locate and highlight links on that page
• Optional website permissions to check link destinations after user approval
Limited Use compliance
Use of information received through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
